Gifted assessments are typically requested for grade school-age students to determine if they qualify for gifted or enhanced programming within their school board. To address the question of Giftedness, a multi-informant, multi-modal assessment is essential. Specifically, the assessment will include a thorough intake to understand current functioning and history of academic achievement and success including but not limited to report cards and progress reports, standardized testing (WISC-V and WIAT-III) and a thorough feedback with the psychologist to discuss the results.
Because our Gifted assessments are question-specific, this service is provided at a reduced cost of $1750.
Percentile scores will be provided for the WISC-V and WIAT-III test results along with identification of academic strengths and/or weaknesses and a recommendation to consider their placement in gifted or enhanced programming at the school, if applicable.
Giftedness is not a diagnosis and is determined solely by the respective school board, in part, based on our assessment results and recommendations.
Gifted assessments are limited in scope to address the specific question of Giftedness. In contrast, our comprehensive psychoeducational assessments are intended to address learning related challenges, including learning and socio-emotional difficulties, which include additional testing around memory, executive functioning and mental health.
As our primary service, we continue to offer comprehensive psychoeducational assessments intended to address attention, learning and mental health challenges.
First appointment is in-person at either our Toronto or Mississauga office and involves the intake and testing portions of the assessment, typically for about 3-4 hours.
After the testing is complete, the results of the tests will be analyzed and a report written.
The final appointment will be with the Registered Psychologist to discuss the results and recommendations. This appointment will be held via video or phone. Following the appointment, arrangements will be made to provide you with your full written report.
