While every individual will have their unique experiences, those seeking an ASD only assessment may report having challenges in their social interactions including understanding social cues and emotional exchanges, reacting strongly to certain sensory items i.e. (smells, sounds, tastes), engaging in repetitive behaviours or having fixed interests.
Our ASD-only assessments are for individuals aged 3-5 years and 16 years and older with a specific question around ASD and are not looking to address learning-based difficulties (e.g., Learning Disabilities), or socio-emotional challenges outside of ASD (e.g., mood or anxiety challenges).
To address the question of ASD, a multi-informant, multi-modal assessment is essential. Specifically, the assessment will include a thorough intake to understand current concerns and history of challenges, questionnaires to be completed by the individual and others (e.g., spouse, teacher, parent), standardized testing (IQ for cognitive ability and the ADOS – Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), direct consultation with the supervising psychologist and a thorough feedback with the psychologist to discuss the results.
Because our ASD-only assessments are diagnostic specific, this service is provided at a reduced cost of $2,500.
The assessment results provide a comprehensive understanding of the individual’s ability to manage social interactions, the potential barriers to developing positive relationships, and understanding the challenges with transitioning between tasks and removing oneself from a repetitive cycle. It will also provide specific recommendations for support based on the results both in the educational and personal environments. This information is meant to provide insights into making informed decisions about the individual’s educational and/or professional journey.
ASD-only assessments are limited in scope to address the specific question of ASD.In contrast, our comprehensive psychoeducational assessments are intended to address learning related challenges, including Learning Disabilities and socio-emotional difficulties, which include additional testing around academic progress, memory and mental health.
As our primary service, we continue to offer comprehensive psychoeducational assessments intended to address learning, attentional and mental health challenges.

First appointment is in-person at either our Toronto or Mississauga office and involves the intake and testing portions of the assessment, typically for about 3 hours.
After the testing is complete a video consultation appointment will take place with the Registered Psychologist. The purpose of this appointment is to follow up on any information that came from the interview, testing and/or questionnaires. Following this, the results of the tests and consultation will be analyzed and a report written.
The final appointment will also be with the Registered Psychologist to discuss the results and recommendations. This appointment will be held via video or phone. Following the appointment, arrangements will be made to provide the full written report.
