After many years working with children in various settings, Barbara R. Anderson, R.N., B.A., and Susan D’Souza, M.A., Dip.C.S., felt that there was a need to provide better services to individuals with learning challenges. They brought together a team of professionals that felt the same way, and in 1995 NEAC was founded. In 1998, NEAC expanded its services to post-secondary students in collaboration with Accessibility Learning Centres of post-secondary education institutions.
Since then, we have grown to provide services for children and adults of all ages and backgrounds.
In 2017, NEAC transitioned to new leadership under the direction of Pinny Stern MA and Dr. Grunberger C.Psych in an effort to expand the vital services NEAC offers to the community. In 2018, NEAC underwent a significant renovation and expansion of its central Mississauga hub. To support the increased need, NEAC opened a satellite clinic centrally located in Toronto.
Currently, NEAC continues to maintain and develop relationships with a diverse range of partners including community practitioners and educational institutions.
